Mad World

Today I somehow ended up stay home from school. I was stricken with a nasty cold last night that somehow made me sleep in and my mom just let me stay in bed. Now that I'm finally out of my cold stricken coma, It's time for me to put my Netflix into good use. I have recently discovered (and became obsessed with) the Emmy Award winning show and have been flying through the first season.
If I cold live in any era, other than my own, I would choose to live in the 50's-60's. The men in suits, the way that women were always an object of class, how people would live out the american dream, and not to mention the music. I think my love of the 50's comes from when I was little. Growing up my father always would play Rat Pack music when he would work in the garage and as a child I would always sit outside with him and listen to it. I always loved the feeling the songs gave me. Any time I hear Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin, I feel like I'm at home.
I now understand the hype with this show. The drama is enthralling, none the less, but there are so many other amazing things about this show. I love the tensions between the characters the most, and how Don is constantly coming off as a mystery while you're always trying to figure his wife out as well. I started watching this show because I knew it was about a man working in advertisement. Advertisement is actually a career path that I've always wanted to pursue, so i figured why not. There are so many other things I could say about this show, but I'll just leave you with this.
