Shady, baby
The images above are from from new, and far from the style I've found myself entangled with lately. I guess you could refer to these as "oldie but goldie"s, for the fact that they are old but don't seem under developed. These are my top two favorite drawing I've done in my sketchbook, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and scan them while scanning some new material.
The top image is one that I found on tumblr. The original is actually almost completely black except for part of the model's silhouette. I decided to sort of draw the image a little differently than it was portrayed in a real life photograph (by this I mean that I was too lazy to completely blacken out the background). On the plus side, I like the way the image is sort of being faded away into the white background. I honestly have no idea how long I spent on this, I was just very happy that I managed to do a profiled face, sideways body language, and some how make the image appear fading in and out. It sometimes seems like I'm two completely different people. I'm me (obviously..I have no idea where I'm going with this) and I'm the drawing/artist/blah blah pretentious me. I always seem completely baffled and awestruck with my drawing ability. It's almost like while I'm drawing I black out and some artist takes over, then nudges me awake and leaves the pencil in my hand....I'm not really sure if I even know what I'm talking about..
The second image is of Canadian Male model Lowell Tatuchin. After drawing my favorite French male model Clement Chabernaud, I had some weird obsession with drawing foreign male models with jawlines chiseled by God himself. This is also another image I found while scrolling through Tumblr (let's be honest, Tumblr is my only source for anything..ever). I'm not really sure how identical this drawing is to the original, but I'll post the orig. for you to decide if it's legitimate or not. So Lowell has tons of editorial images that I would die to draw (or hang up in my room..no shame) because he has a very distinctive look and photographic personality (if that's a thing..idk) in his shots. Like I've stated before, I'm somewhat of a fashion industry stalking fangirl (or something like that) so naturally I would have my top favorite designers, male models, female models, handbags, magazines, yada yada. I think I would have to make my top favorite 5 male models: 1) Clement Chabernaud 2) Lowell Tatuchin 3)Baptiste Radufe 4)Victor Nylander & 5) Cole Mohr.
Well there ya go. I hope you enjoy my photos even if you skip my mindless blabing about why I drew them, how I drew them, and my favorite male models..
And here is the reality...Don't judge too harshly..plzzz

Pretty Little Things
So these drawings are quite old. By quite old, I mean by about a year or so. Many people will look at these and just see that they are drawings of people I've done, not really knowing who they are or why I've decided to illustrate one captured moment of them.
My obsession with these people has been born from endless hours on Tumblr, following fashion blog galore. If you still have no idea where I'm going with this, let me tell you. Basically fashion is something that inspires me daily. Fabulous clothes, chic people, inspiring individuals, ect. I've found myself completely inthralled by the fashion industry and the people who make it gush-worthy. Between my never ending pile of Vogue (and other highly respected fashion magazines), my hundreds of tracked tags on tumblr of male models, and my tiny collection of designer goods, my interests in fashion is far more than just an interest.
You're still probably wondering who the eff these people are (if you yourself aren't a fashion enthusiast like myself). The top photograph is of 22 year old French male model Clement Chabernaud. One of my all time favorite models with the most impeccable editorial and runway track record. The second image is of Australian not so "girl next door" Abbey Lee Kershaw. She is one model who has transformed from a Victoria's Secret Angel to one of the most high fashion models there has ever been. Aka. She's basically the Voldemort of the fashion industry, which makes me find her so interesting. Thirdly, but not lastly (wait..what..) is Cole Mohr. I went through a 3 month phase of marveling (and being completely in love with) at this Fashion "bad boy". He is honestly one of the most comedic and not to mention unique male models in the game. He's known for being very tattooed, and it kills me how many grotesque "home made" tattoos he has all over.
In all I think I chose these three not because of how visually striking they may be, but because their personal styles and lifestyles are so interesting. They aren't just people who "sit pretty", watching interviews of Cole and Abbey Lee are always interesting and sometimes very surprising. Now that you probably find me somewhat of a fashion imbecile, I should probably let you go back to your own lives and end this post. Look for more posts in the future!

Back to Basics
Hello again darlings. I realize that I've been somewhat hiatus with the art work on this blog, which sort of has been rubbing me the wrong way. My art work is the sole reason I made this blog in the first place. I've been really analyzing my technique of cartooning and drawing "Burton-esque" figures. I just recently made these two little gems the old fashioned way; With paper, pencil, and pen. Let me just say, it's really refreshing. I have to say these two have to be the best work I've done in a very long time. I'm very detail oriented and found that specific details were being left out in my previous drawings. they weren't as fun, took longer than they should have for what they show for, and (were good) lacked something.
Like I said in the past Tim Burton is one of my favorite directors/creators and I really base a lot of my technique off of his. I don't really think I'm copying, but merely creating based-off of. I was very hesitant of doing this style, but I found that it suits me. There are a lot of "cartooners" or "illustrators" that do work that has the same type of aesthetic. For example, on tumblr i've found multiple artists who draw cartoons with the same features; rounded figures, large eyes, etc. I guess I just like this style, so I'm going to cling.
I also posted my 500 Days of Summer (top) image to tumblr and got quite a response! Which is a good feeling. I think I might continue this "old fashioned" way of using paper and scanning. I'll post again soon, take care!

*cough cough*
It's finally fall, which means pre-school sickness. That's right. I've been struck with a rather nasty cold, so I decided that I would let you all in on how it is being sick (not that you don't already know).
