The images above are from from new, and far from the style I've found myself entangled with lately. I guess you could refer to these as "oldie but goldie"s, for the fact that they are old but don't seem under developed. These are my top two favorite drawing I've done in my sketchbook, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and scan them while scanning some new material.
The top image is one that I found on tumblr. The original is actually almost completely black except for part of the model's silhouette. I decided to sort of draw the image a little differently than it was portrayed in a real life photograph (by this I mean that I was too lazy to completely blacken out the background). On the plus side, I like the way the image is sort of being faded away into the white background. I honestly have no idea how long I spent on this, I was just very happy that I managed to do a profiled face, sideways body language, and some how make the image appear fading in and out. It sometimes seems like I'm two completely different people. I'm me (obviously..I have no idea where I'm going with this) and I'm the drawing/artist/blah blah pretentious me. I always seem completely baffled and awestruck with my drawing ability. It's almost like while I'm drawing I black out and some artist takes over, then nudges me awake and leaves the pencil in my hand....I'm not really sure if I even know what I'm talking about..
The second image is of Canadian Male model Lowell Tatuchin. After drawing my favorite French male model Clement Chabernaud, I had some weird obsession with drawing foreign male models with jawlines chiseled by God himself. This is also another image I found while scrolling through Tumblr (let's be honest, Tumblr is my only source for anything..ever). I'm not really sure how identical this drawing is to the original, but I'll post the orig. for you to decide if it's legitimate or not. So Lowell has tons of editorial images that I would die to draw (or hang up in my room..no shame) because he has a very distinctive look and photographic personality (if that's a thing..idk) in his shots. Like I've stated before, I'm somewhat of a fashion industry stalking fangirl (or something like that) so naturally I would have my top favorite designers, male models, female models, handbags, magazines, yada yada. I think I would have to make my top favorite 5 male models: 1) Clement Chabernaud 2) Lowell Tatuchin 3)Baptiste Radufe 4)Victor Nylander & 5) Cole Mohr.
Well there ya go. I hope you enjoy my photos even if you skip my mindless blabing about why I drew them, how I drew them, and my favorite male models..
And here is the reality...Don't judge too harshly..plzzz
