A Tribute

        At first glance, you probably think that I'm making a post based off of some pervy fantasy or maybe even a fisherman meets 50 Shades of Grey kinda deal. Well I have to admit, this post IS in fact based off of a novel character but not a Twilight fan fiction, but the Hunger Games trilogy! Anybody who is anybody has either read the books or seen the movie (if not, you obviously have some deprivation issues). 
        If you have only read the first book or seen the first movie, you are probably completely confused of who the eff this washboard abed, trident holding, fisherman is. This character first appears in the second book (Catching Fire) and is also a vital character in the 3rd book (Mockingjay). This, ladies and gentlemen, is Finnick Odair. One of my favorite character (sub-plots) in the Hunger Games trilogy. He was from District 4: The Fishing District.
        I know this may seem like a super random and irrelevant to pop culture right now, but I was inspired after having a long talk about the books with my family. My cousin who is familiar with the books, was talking to me about the relationships in the Hunger Games. I remembered that I stumbled upon a "ship" on tumblr called peenick...basically these tumblr's had some strange fan fiction between Peeta and Finnick. It then carried the conversation over to who will play the notorious district 4 tribute in the upcoming movies. Needless to say, I was inspired to illustrate what I pictured Finnick looked like in the books. 
        GUYS! I made yet another background, I am really excited that I'm starting to make more backgrounds and not have so many characters suspended in space and time. This was also the first illustration I used airbrushing on the body of one of the characters. I had to, I mean it's Finnick (if you've read the books...you'll understand). This is sort of out of my usual comfort zone of drawing, but I'm glad I sort of tried something new and did a little bit more realistic of a drawing. Sorry for the long wait for new posts!
